At Castlegarth Restaurant, the menu changes daily, in order to showcase the best each season has to offer. We are proud to use local organic suppliers who respect sustainable agriculture. In fact we grow the majority of our produce and beef at our own Castlegarth Farms just outside the village of White Lake. The use of a greenhouse and polytunnel helps to extend our growing season. We also have organic lamb, pork, and bison raised within close proximity of the restaurant. Everything is made in-house including breads, pastas, smoked meats, smoked fish, all desserts and ice creams.

Our goal at Fall River Restaurant stems from our commitment to healthy, flavorful food, and to environmentally-conscious decision making in our day-to-day lives.  We are also deeply committed to supporting our community. We strive to buy as many local ingredients as possible, and hope, one day, to be completely self-sufficient.
One of the benefits of buying local and organic food is its freshness. This translates to flavour and to high-quality meals on your plate.  As important as what you’ll find in our food, is what you won’t find -- growth hormones, antibiotic-injected meats, and pesticide-ridden fruits and vegetables.  This approach to food and farming reduces the use of fossil fuels and lessens the risk of chemical fertilizers washing into our rivers.
In an era of multinational corporations and fast food, it seems as though nearly everything we do has a negative effect on our environment. But by choosing to dine in our restaurant, you can feel better knowing that you have helped a community support itself and Mother Nature breath a little easier. Think Global … Eat Local!

Lanark Village.

Owners Tim Vokey & Beth Robertson of Tim's Take Out and family have been organic farming in Lanark Highlands since 1989 and will provide an extension of their beliefs into their business, to be as sustainable and local as possible, growing or buying local ingredients to add to their menu. At present they buy Lanark County beef, bacon, tempeh burgers, Ontario grown tomatoes and potatoes. An Ottawa bakery provides fresh bake kaiser buns. Chicken burgers, zucchini sticks, chicken fingers, fresh made beef burgers, breakfast sandwiches, peameal bacon and tomato on a toasted kaiser bun, fresh cut French fries, sweet potato fries and poutine, freshly brewed coffee, juice, soda pop, are some of whats served up. At present the plastic bottles and the used fryer oil is taken away and recycled, and soda pop cans are donated for School fund raisers. Come out and enjoy the beautiful weather at the grassy picnic area at their out door eatery, surrounded by lush Lanark forest. There is plenty of parking.
