This farm has a diversity of soils from sandy to clay loam to thick clay providing an excellent opportunity to discuss and examine all three types. This diversity is due to a unique glacial formation that the farm is located on.

About John Slack:
As a agri-mineral prospector, John has traveled from the desert to the arctic looking at soils to determine locations of mineral deposits for industrial and agricultural use.  As a farmer of many years near Orangeville, North West of Toronto, he has recently added a sheep dairy to his sheep operation.  Combining his two passions, John provides a unique, straightforward and in-depth critical look at evaluating and managing soils.
